Welcome from the Head
I myself attended Florence Melly and grew up in the local community. I know how education changes lives and I am passionate about ensuring all of Florence Melly’s pupils are educated in a happy and safe learning environment that enables them to develop and grow. Our school aims to ensure that each and every child reaches their potential and has as many opportunities in life as possible. We aim to achieve this through a broad education focused on academic success, excellence in terms of care and welfare, and ensuring their talents and achievements are recognised. I want our children to be excited about the opportunities that exist for them and have the confidence and skills vital for success in life. As a staff team we want our children to feel happy and valued, to develop an enjoyment for learning and grow in self-confidence, respecting themselves and others.
When you visit our school you will see the happy, purposeful working environment and the excellent relationships that exist across the school. Our pupils are valued as unique individuals and we aim to sustain a happy, caring, supportive and positive learning community.
We are committed to working in partnership with parents and welcome our parents to take advantage of the many informal and formal opportunities to enhance the home-school relationship.
We have an excellent staff team and governing body and we will do everything we can to ensure your child is inspired to learn and achieve every day. I look forward to working with you and please do not hesitate to contact the school on 0151 226 1929 should you have any questions or to arrange a visit to the school.
I have been a deputy headteacher and headteacher in a number of primary schools. I have also worked as an Ofsted Inspector, School Improvement Partner and Learning Network Director. Previously I set up two successful education centres at the two football clubs in Liverpool and was also responsible for promoting various initiatives such as enterprise in primary schools in Liverpool.
I am married and have one son and one daughter. I enjoy reading, travelling to new places and spending time with my family.
