Our New Parent/Carer Code of Conduct

Florence Melly Community Primary School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting children’s welfare and expects all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment and maintain a vigilant and safe environment. Everyone has a responsibility to act, without delay, to protect children by reporting anything that might suggest a child is being abused or neglected. It is our willingness to work safely and challenge inappropriate behaviours that underpins this commitment. The school seeks to work in partnership with families and other agencies to improve the outcomes for children who are vulnerable or in need.

We are about to issue our new parent/carer code of conduct to our parents/carers. These will be available in leaflet form in the coming weeks. An example of the agreement can be found by clicking this link: Code of Conduct for Parents/Carers

We are very fortunate to have such a supportive and friendly parent body. Our parents recognise that educating children is a process that involves partnership between parents, class teachers and the school community. As a partnership, our parents will understand the importance of a good working relationship to equip children with the necessary skills for adulthood. For these reasons we continue to welcome and encourage parents/carers to participate fully in the life of our school. The purpose of this policy is to provide a reminder to all parents/carers about the expected conduct and the high expectations we have for all stakeholders. This is so we can continue to flourish, progress and achieve in an atmosphere of mutual understanding.

We trust that our parents/carers will assist our school with the implementation of this policy and we thank you for your continuing support of the school.
