Dear parents/carers, 

Just a quick note to clarify the arrangements for when you drop your child/children off at school in the mornings. This does not effect those children who attend breakfast club!

You may have noticed that the children do not line up in their classes on the yard anymore. We are now operating a ‘free-flow’ system where the children can come into the school building from 8:45am. At 8:45am we will open specific doors for the children to use (depending on which year group they are in). Mr Leach and/or Mr Baillie will be on the yard to help guide pupils and parents with this change.

• If your child is in Reception they are to enter school via the doors outside the Reception classrooms (the same as normal).
• If your child is in Year 1 or Year 2 they are to enter the school via the Year 1 and Year 2 classroom doors (as normal).
• If your child is in Year 3 or Year 4 they are to enter the school via the door they exit the school from – the left side wingtip (as you look at the school).
• If your child is in Year 5 or Year 6 they are to enter the school via the the door they exit the school from – the right side wingtip (as you look at the school).

In the winter months this will be of particular benefit as we will not have pupils and parents stood on the yard in the cold for long periods of time. The school doors will be open from 8:45am regardless of the weather. We will not be opening them earlier if it is raining.

Just to clarify…

Our school gates open at 8:40am. 

Our school building will open for pupils from 8:45am. Children are not to be left unaccompanied on the yard between the gates opening and the school building opening as this is a safeguarding issue! The only exception is if your child is in either Year 5 or Year 6 and has been given parental permission to walk to and from school on their own.

Our class teachers will be in class to welcome the children from 8:45am.

The official school day start time will remain at 8:55am. After 9:00am, the doors will be shut and pupils will have to be taken to the main office to sign in.
