Florence Melly – 90th Anniversary Celebrations
This year we celebrate 90 years since Florence Melly Primary School opened.
We have decided to hold an exciting five days of celebrations during the week of 10th July so our Y6 pupils can participate.
There are plenty of exciting events this week. See below:
Monday 10th July 2017
Blessing at Ancient Chapel for the grave of Florence Melly
A whole school assembly will launch the week of celebration with musical accompaniment from the Samba band
Whole school photograph of all the school staff and pupils on the Astro in the shape of 90 photographed by a drone.
Tuesday 11th July 2017
A drop in afternoon Tea for the ex-pupils and staff will be held from 1:30pm-3:00pm.
Wednesday 12th July 2017
Whole school historical day – pupils and staff will re-enact the school as it would have been in 1927.
Everyone is encourages to dress up in traditional lessons, artefacts, playground games, music, dance, prayers and playground games.
Thursday 13th July 2017
School will bury a time capsule of artefacts in the school grounds
Formally open the sensory area
Afternoon tea for all pupils, staff, Governors and Parents of the school
Friday 14th July 2017
