Please find below, a draft copy of our new ‘Charging and Remissions’ policy. The guidance outlines what we can charge for including voluntary contributions and reduced charges. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
What this means for parents
Your child’s education during the school day is free, and the school will not charge for lessons, books, equipment or activities that are part of the National Curriculum. In some cases, the school may ask for payment for optional activities that take place outside school hours (such as clubs, music lessons requested by parents, or residential visits), but any charges will only cover the actual cost and will always be explained in advance. The school may also ask for voluntary contributions to support trips or activities; however, these are optional, and no child will be excluded if parents/carers are unable or choose not to contribute. Support is available for families on low incomes, including help with the cost of residential visits, and parents/carers can apply confidentially to the Headteacher for charges to be reduced or remitted.
