Welcome to the family! When your child joins Florence Melly Community Primary School, they become part of our Flo Melly family…and not only them – you do to! A sense of family and belonging sits firmly at the heart of our ethos; so, children, staff, governors, parents, carers, grandparents, extended family members, visitors and those in our local community are welcomed into our Flo Melly family too.
Through our DREAMS core values, our inclusive curriculum and our vibrant enrichment programme, our children are guided to learn what it takes to be successful in all aspects of their lives, including in their relationships and in their contributions to each other, our family and the wider world.
We love to work collaboratively with our families and we encourage them to visit school and engage with us as often as possible. Through initiatives such as our Flo Melly pantry, coffee mornings, stay and play opportunities, class assemblies, parent/carer focus group meetings, family learning events and various training opportunities; Flo Melly family members play an integral role in school life.
We are thankful for the support of all members of our Flo Melly family and are proud to say that once you are a part of our family, you never truly leave us.
If you don’t already know, we are all about using high-quality texts to improve and enhance what we do at our school. Here is a recommended picture book to share with our families: Our School is a Family written by Shannon Olson
